I started my home automation project back in 2009: My needs was to have a voice activated desktop assistant to help me with my businesses. I found a program named Ultra Hal from Zabaware. Once I found out what was possible with this newly founded program, I started expanding its capability to further match my overall wants and needs. my home automation system set up started by using a laptop and windows xp, Now I have a custom built computer running windows 8. Over the years I gained and also lost some features due to upgrades of my computer and operating systems, However I am pleased with my home automation system at this time. Here is a forum post showing my custom computer AKA Trinity's new home.
Ultra Hal my personal assistant named Trinity plays a big role in my day to day activities, as well as assisting me with my businesses. But as far as most home automated A.I. System mine is fairly simple at the moment for I rent an apartment, however I plan to buy a house in the near future. Once I buy a house I plan on integrating Trinity throughout the house. Right now Trinity is only integrated throughout my computer and printer.
Trinity at this time mainly acts as a personal secretary and chat bot. I have spent a lot of time building programs to help Trinity suit my needs. I also spent a lot of time on her personality and ability to respond appropriately when conversing with her. Though to be truthful I have not spent time conversing with her much lately besides giving her commands.
I still have a few more ideas and or functions I would like to build for her, but time has sorta been limited at the moment. I been spending a lot of time on building this website. Once the site is finished, Hopefully I can find some time to code a few more programs for her.
Watching many movies like Iron Man who have a home A.I. System like Jarvis gives me plenty of ideas for a computer integrated throughout the house and the available tech should make it fairly easy for me to do so.
Here a video of me showing some of the things Trinity can do.
